For as long as I can remember I’ve had a passion for motorcycles. Growing up in the San Francisco Bay Area I was exposed to all types of beautiful bikes, but I have a special place in my heart for Café Racers. My first bike was a ’67 Honda 350, a dream bike, except for the fact that I spent more time trying to get it to turn over than actually riding it. I moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico in 1999 and became a serious rider 8 years later. The big sky and endless winding roads drew me back into riding.
Returning to the motorcycle community called my attention to the lack of women’s motorcycle apparel and its need for a breath of fresh air.
In addition to creating a new aesthetic in women’s motorcycle jackets, I spent many hours talking to women with thousands of miles of experience behind their advice (Thank you Motor Maids!). So here is the result, I hope you enjoy them and I support you, “Riding your own story.”
We at FLYING DUCHESS would like to tip our helmets to the trailblazing women who paved the way through mud and washed out roads. Overcoming prejudice and societal expectations for the love of living and seeing what lies over the mountain. We would also like to give a nod to the Café Racers from the 50’s with their need for speed and cool style, both of which have been the inspiration for our company. As female riders we know what is available out there, and it’s a bit of a yawn. Why can’t we have fashion and fit while protecting our ass-ets?
Now you can, with features that include:
- MADE IN THE USA
- TOP-GRAIN LEATHER
- CURVED SLEEVES
- TWO-WAY ZIPPER- FRONT FOR ADDED COMFORT WHEN RIDING
- OPTIONAL ZIP-OUT QUILTED VEST
- FORCEFIELD ARMOUR: HIGH QUALITY ARMOUR THAT IS NOT STIFF AND BULKY
- PERFORATED FRONT SIDES FOR COOLING AIR-FLOW
- TAPERED LONGER IN THE BACK FOR FULL COVERAGE
We have created jackets that have a retro look with classic colors that fuse fashion and function. So, whether you are riding, or simply hanging out with friends, however you decide to wear these jackets … MAKE THEM YOUR OWN!
We at Flying Duchess want to celebrate you…
